Goals must be generally stated in the quality policy. Specific, measurable goals can be privately stated and tracked. The executive manager must know the goal or goals, the current level and their plan to achieve the goal. Sample Quality Policy A The Quality Policy for ABC Fabricator is to continually commit to meeting contract requirements and to address all customer concerns. The basis or goal for this is “to assure our customers return and not our product.” Additionally, our objectives are to meet contract specifications with no charge-backs greater than identified by internal measures relative to each contract. All managers within the executive management team are committed to adhering to this policy, as well as to communicate it to all facility personnel for understanding and implementation. DEF Fabricator is committed to Quality and attaining customer satisfaction as defined by our customer’s contracts and by having our customers return and not our product! To achieve this, DEF Fabricator will track the number of return customers and our overall product quality. ___________________________ At this point in time and for their current problems, DEF has decided to define product quality specifically as weld quality. SAMPLE GOAL: They have set their goal at no more than 40 inches of defective weld per 1000 inches of weld deposited.
